It was selected as a finalist short story in the London Independent Story Prize (LISP) 2022, and was published on its website in February 2023. You can read about my interview here.

Stepping out of the Magic Circle

Through semi-structured interviews with players of massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs), this study seeks to understand how these players delineate the boundary between play and life when it comes to their game-originated romance.

This paper is presented at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Conference in Denver in August 2011. It is also published in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Comunication, Volume 18, Issue 3 in April 2013.

The Beauty of Tohoku

This short story describes the kindness of strangers I have personally experienced during my first trip to Japan in 2010.

This story was one of the many short stories contributed by writers who have lived in Japan, compiled by volunteers and published in the e-book entitled, Write for Tohoku, published in April 2011, whose sales proceeds went to the relief efforts of the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011.

Currently, the kindle version of the e-book is still available for purchase on amazon.
